Project 52: Week 36

I'm starting to come to terms with summer being over.  Recapping what we did all summer with Brynn last night reminded me of just how much fun we had...visiting faraway friends, camping with the girls for the first time, and enjoying every last second we spent with our toes in the sand.  We spent Labor Day weekend beach hopping, hitting three different (yet equally beautiful) beaches right here at home.  There was no shortage of Kodak moments, and I will not be stingy with how many I share:

Want to keep your kids endlessly occupied at the beach?  Dig a hole...

...and see what they do with it!

This little spot was begging to be the backdrop for some pictures!

Camryn eats up any sort of affection Brynn shows her, even if it's just sitting really close.

Watching them play was a bit surreal...I was trying to burn into my memory exactly how they were at that very moment, while at the same time, trying to imagine the little girls they will be next summer.  No wonder I was so snap happy with the camera!

The pain of saying goodbye to summer is eased somewhat by seeing how excited Brynn was to go back to preschool today.  I'm happy to report I didn't cry at all this time, as I saved up all my tears for next year, when Brynn starts kindergarten and Camryn starts preschool...on the same day!

As soon as we dropped Brynn off, Camryn began asking where she was...about every 10 minutes!  So sweet to see how much Cam missed her buddy (also sweet not having to hear them fighting in the backseat while running errands, but that's neither here nor there), and I know I'm going to really enjoy spending some one-on-one time with Camryn each week.  Is there a slow motion button on these kids?

  1. You have beautiful children! Yep, playing in the sand always brings many hours of fun. They do grow so fast, don't they? I picked my youngest son up the other day, because he'd fallen asleep, and I was remembering how little he used to be. But each stage of growth brings something new and exciting. Stopping by from Proj. 52.
