Allstate is Fancy too!

Ann from Clayton's Creations recently purchased a posh pumpkin and showed it off to her co-workers at Allstate.  Turns out Allstate wanted some Fancy in the office and ordered a pumpkin as well!  Guess this pumpkin is in good hands...

I have to admit, this simple little guy was a welcome respite from some of the highly adorned pumpkins I've done recently!  My hand is well rested and ready to take on the next order!

Small pumpkins like the one above can be purchased for $12, while medium and large pumpkins are available for $18 and $30, respectively.  Email me at karen.psimas@yahoo.com or find me on Facebook to place an order.

Busy, busy

I think this September has been my busiest month to date, so thank you for all of your pumpkin and piggy purchases!  All of you Fancy fans must be spreading the word as well...I've had a huge jump in "likes" on Facebook this month, too!  If you're new to Fancy Fonts, welcome!  If you're a returning customer, be sure to take advantage of 10% off your entire order through the end of the month...that's this Friday, so get on it!

I wanted to share a few things I've been working on, but then I have to get back to work!  First up, we have a jewelry box Brynn gave as a gift for her friend's birthday.  When I saw the box in the store, I envisioned Kailey's name on the lid and got to work as soon as I got home:

Next, we've got a pair of posh pumpkins for our friends' little girl and her brand new baby brother:

Ellie lives in Charleston, so I thought girly little ghouls with big ol' hair bows would be totally appropriate for this sweet South Carolina girl.

I'm pretty jealous that Frankenstein will get to meet little Becket before I do, but hopefully it won't be too long!

I also made a pumpkin for a little boy named Liam this week:

Got a little carried away with this one!  I intended to have just a mummy and maybe some bats on this pumpkin, but the mummy seemed lonely, so I added Dracula.  There was a big void on the left side, so I added Frankenstein and a ghost.  I threw in the cobblestone walk and the haunted house in the distance to tie it all together.  It took an entire episode of Dancing with the Stars, but Liam's pumpkin finally looks complete!

Medium pumpkins like Ellie's and Becket's can be purchased for $18, small pumpkins like Liam's for $12, and large pumpkins are also available for $30.  Check out the picture below to see the scale:

My Fancy apprentice

I think the days of Brynn taking naps might be a thing of the past.  Ah, the end of an era.  But I still need to get my work done, so I've been encouraging her to sit beside me and create something of her own while I work.  Usually she'll color in a coloring book or doodle on some blank paper, but today she imitated Mommy, and I am flattered and beaming with pride:

She even insisted on taking the photographs herself.  Love that kid!

Project 52: Week 38

Last week, out of nowhere, Brynn decided she wanted to watch The Wiggles.  The girl hasn't watched The Wiggles in at least 2 years, so I have no idea what made her want to watch it again.  Camryn, on the other hand, had never seen The Wiggles and was arguing vehemently that she wanted to watch Little Einsteins instead.  A moderate fit was thrown, followed by silence, then complete obsession.  The daughter of an ADHD poster boy, there isn't much that holds Camryn's attention and makes her sit still for more than about 46 seconds.  Until now.

Many thanks to Greg, Anthony, Murray, and Jeff!

100!!!

Let's pop the bubbly!  Fancy Fonts is celebrating its 100th order since its inception 18 months ago!  A huge-mongous thank you to my friends and family, who not only have been my best customers, but have helped spread the word about Fancy Fonts to their friends and family as well.  As a token of appreciation for each and every person who has helped me reach the century mark, Fancy Fonts is giving all returning customers 10% off their entire order through the end of the month.  I am overwhelmed by your support, and I hope to continue bringing the Fancy to your life for years to come!  THANK YOU!!!

Another interesting number for Fancy Fonts today was 25...as in I've had orders for 25 pumpkins in the past 21 days!  I have had so much fun with these ghoulish little gourds, and my latest is no exception.  Olivia's mom didn't want anything too scary for her 3 year old's pumpkin, and this devilish little girl's favorite color is pink, so I found an adorable image to use as inspiration for Livy's un-scary pumpkin.  This one ranks somewhere near the top on my list of favorites so far:

Small pumpkins like Olivia's can be purchased for $12, while medium and large pumpkins are available for $18 and $30.  Email me at karen.psimas@yahoo.com or find me on Facebook to place an order.  Thanks again for getting Fancy with me!

Business buddies

I hope by now all you Fancy Fans out there have either "liked" Macaroni Kid Virginia Beach on Facebook or have become subscribers to their free weekly newsletter about all things family-related.  As a home-based business featured with Macaroni Kid, Fancy Fonts has not only gained scores of Facebook fans, but I've had other home-based businesses show their support of my creative outlet.  Some of these businesses have recently wanted to add a little Fancy to their lives, and I was happy to help!

First up is DivaLicious, who specializes in boutique accessories for girls.  Think tutus and hairbows!  DivaLicious wanted a pumpkin to represent each of her kids:

Next, we have Clayton's Creations, who also specializes in children's hair accessories.  Ms. Clayton wanted a pumpkin full of bows in her business logo's colors, which are black, white, and hot pink:

Pumpkins like those pictured above can be purchased for $12.  Medium and large pumpkins are also available for $18 and $30, respectively.  Don't forget...teachers receive 20% their entire Fancy Fonts purchase through the month of September!  Just tell me where you teach and why you love your job when ordering.  Email me at karen.psimas@yahoo.com or find me on Facebook for ordering and information.  Be sure to check out DivaLicious' and Clayton's Creations' Facebook pages and show them some love too!

Keeping up with the Joneses

My latest ghoulish gourds were for the three munchkins I babysat once a week this summer.  My babysitting days got much easier once school started, as now I have two fewer Joneses to keep up with!  Hope they like their pumpkins!

Project 52: Week 37

After doing nothing but run errands with Camryn for the first week Brynn was in school, I decided that Wednesday was going to be a day of all play, no work for me and my baby girl.  It was going to be a hot, sunny day, so why not spend some one on one time at the beach?  The morning started off great...I parked my car at the beach and went for a run among all the gorgeous beach homes.  After I got my sweat on, I quickly changed and got down to the beach for an hour of Mommy-Camryn time.  Maybe 10 minutes after we set up camp, I moved my chair closer to the water to dig a tidal pool for Camryn to splash in.  I look up from digging, and a woman and her son have come to the practically empty beach and plopped their stuff down...a foot away from mine!  See Exhibit A:

My stuff is at the bottom of the picture, hers at the top.  I wouldn't put my stuff down that close to someone I actually went to the beach WITH, let alone a total stranger!  To make matters worse, little Billy decided he was going to take Camryn's beach toys and bury them, one by one.  Camryn had this perplexed look on her face as she repeated "Mine!" over and over again.  And for once, I wasn't mad at her for doing it!

I was so disappointed that this lady completely barged in on my time with Camryn, but what could I have done?  Really, I'm asking you...what could I have done???  Any suggestions?

Just keep truckin' on

Recently, my orders have been heavy on the pumpkins, not so much on the piggy banks.  Tonight, however, I worked on a piggy bank for an adorable little ball of energy who's celebrating his 2nd birthday this month.  I've met this kid before, and I think his piggy should come with instructions to "Keep out of reach until Miles' 21st birthday!"  I was told he loves trucks, so there's no shortage on this piggy:

I hope Miles thinks his piggy is truckin' awesome!  Happy Birthday, little dude!

Large piggy banks like Miles' can be purchased for $25, while medium piggies are available for $15.  Teachers get 20% off their entire Fancy Fonts purchase through the month of September...just tell me where you teach and why you love your job to receive the discount.  Email me at karen.psimas@yahoo.com or find me on Facebook for ordering and product information.

Miss Chloe

You may remember I used to babysit for an incredibly sweet family, who moved at the beginning of the year when the dad earned the job opportunity of a lifetime on the other side of the state.  At the time, they had two boys and a little princess on the way.  I finally got to meet Princess Chloe yesterday, when the family came back to the beach for a wedding this past weekend.  YAY!!!  I finally get to post the piggy I made for Chloe and was too scared to send in the mail!  Here she is, about as girly as they come:

I'm so glad I got to meet Miss Chloe and give her a good snuggle!  And just think, Mindy...all that money you're not paying me to babysit can go right in Chloe's piggy bank!  Miss you guys!

Large piggy banks like Chloe's can be purchased for $25, while medium piggies are available for $15.  Email me at karen.psimas@yahoo.com or find me on Facebook for ordering and information.

It's getting posh in here...

So thanks to my loyal Fancy Fans spreading the word about posh pumpkins, I took a trip to Michaels this morning and loaded about a dozen more into my shopping cart.  On top of my child.  Sorry, kid.  Here are a few more I've worked on in the past couple of days:

B is for Brayden...

...and bats!

And a white pumpkin for Brayden's mommy and daddy:
